WILDWOOD, NJ — Police have confirmed the recovery of a 14-year-old boy who went missing in the ocean June 1.
The Wildwood Police Department was notified Tuesday that recovery efforts were underway just off the beach of the United States Coast Guard Training Center Cape May for a deceased individual.
During the investigation, authorities determined the individual may be the juvenile male victim who had gone missing in the ocean in Wildwood.
With assistance from the United States Coast Guard, New Jersey State Police and the Cape May Police Department, the remains were recovered and turned over to the medical examiner’s office.
Forensic analysis confirmed the identification as the missing juvenile from Wildwood.
Next of kin notification was completed once positive identification was made.
