NEWPORT, RI — A Maine man was arrested on trespassing and domestic violence charges following a traffic stop late Monday.
Carryton Edwards, 38, of Lewiston, Maine, was taken into custody at 9:37 p.m. on Hillside Avenue.
Edwards was charged with willful trespass and domestic violation of a protection order, first offense.
He was transported to the Wickford Barracks for processing.
Edwards was held overnight as a bail violator and was scheduled to be presented at Second District Court.
The arrest was made by Rhode Island State Police troopers.
