JAMESTOWN, NY — A woman was arrested on suspicion of driving while impaired with four children in her vehicle after police found her stopped at an intersection with street signs lodged under her car.
Officers on patrol observed a vehicle stopped in the intersection of W. Harrison Street and Barrett Avenue at approximately 8:06 p.m. on June 7, 2026, with a damaged street sign and stop sign underneath it, according to the Jamestown Police Department.
Police initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Megan B. Leeper, 25, of Jamestown.
During the investigation, officers determined Leeper was operating the vehicle while impaired by drugs and alcohol.
Further investigation revealed four children under the age of 16 were passengers in the vehicle at the time of the incident.
Leeper was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where she is being held pending arraignment.
She has been charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs and alcohol; aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child passenger, a felony; four counts of endangering the welfare of a child; and multiple uniform traffic tickets.
