Delhi resident arrested on child endangerment charge in Kortright

KORTRIGHT, NY — A Delhi woman faces charges after allegedly providing alcohol to a minor on Christmas Day.

Makayla Specht, 28, of Delhi, was arrested Wednesday on one count of unlawfully dealing with a child in the first degree, a class A misdemeanor.

Delaware County Sheriff Craig S. Dumond announced the arrest in a press release issued Wednesday.

Investigators with the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division were assigned to investigate a complaint on Jan. 28 involving an adult providing alcoholic beverages to a child.

The investigation revealed that Specht provided alcoholic beverages to a person under 21 years of age on Dec. 25, 2025, in the town of Kortright.

Specht was arrested on a criminal summons issued by the Town of Kortright Court at the conclusion of the investigation.

She was released on the summons and directed to appear at the Town of Kortright Court at a later date to answer the charge.
