Serious crash reported in Hightstown

HIGHTSTOWN, NJ — A driver of an e-bike was seriously injured Wednesday after a collision with a pickup truck and attached trailer at the intersection of North Main Street and Monmouth Street, police said.

Hightstown police said officers responded to numerous 9-1-1 calls about the crash at 4:55 p.m.

Officers found a collision involving the e-bike and the pickup truck with a trailer, according to police.

The e-bike driver was taken to Capital Health, Helene Fuld Campus in Trenton by East Windsor Emergency Medical Services, accompanied by Capital Health paramedics, police said.

The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, police said.

Police said names and identities of those involved were not being released because family members had not yet been notified.

The investigation remained active Wednesday.

The Hightstown Police Department said it was assisted by the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office Serious Collision Response Team.
