Man arrested on warrant in Johnston

JOHNSTON, RI — A Cranston man was arrested on an outstanding warrant late Saturday night following a traffic stop on Route 295 North.

James Anderson, 42, of Cranston, was taken into custody at 11:48 p.m. by state troopers.

Anderson was wanted on an affidavit and arrest warrant issued by the Providence Police Department for violation of a no-contact order and domestic simple assault.

He was transported to State Police headquarters for processing.

Anderson was later turned over to the Providence Police Department.
