MALDEN, MA — A 47-year-old Saugus man was found suffering from a suspected drug overdose Tuesday in the 300 block of Broadway.
Officer Blake Ferry and Officer DeLeon, assisted by Sergeant Gennetti, responded to a medical aid call at approximately 11:30 a.m.
The man appeared to be suffering from an unknown medical condition, possibly related to the use of fentanyl, police said.
Officers discovered a significant quantity of suspected fentanyl on the individual and near the location where he was staying.
A bag containing the substance had become unsecured, dispersing a portion of its contents onto the man and into the air, police said.
The responding officers took necessary precautions and were not injured.
The incident remains under investigation.
