HOOKSETT, NH — A Manchester man was arrested following a pursuit involving a stolen vehicle on May 13.
Hooksett Police Officers were made aware that the Franklin Police Department had been involved in a pursuit with a vehicle that was reported stolen out of the City of Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Around 5:30 a.m., a Hooksett Police Officer on patrol in the area of Hooksett Road and Interstate 93 observed the stolen vehicle speeding and attempted to stop it.
The operator of the vehicle refused to stop and fled into the City of Manchester.
The operator of the vehicle eventually stopped in the area of Beech Street and Hanover Street in Manchester and attempted to walk away.
The individual refused to comply with the officer’s commands to stop.
The officer successfully deployed his taser and took the operator into custody without further incident.
The operator was identified as David Virgue, 38, of Manchester.
Virgue was charged with receiving stolen property, a felony, disobeying a police officer, a misdemeanor, resisting arrest or detention, a misdemeanor, driving after revocation, a violation, speed, a violation, and traffic control device, a violation.
Virgue also had an active warrant for his arrest for violation of a protection order issued out of the Tilton Police Department.
Virgue was held without bail and sent to the Merrimack County House of Correction to await his arraignment.
