Two arrested on burglary, drug charges in Bangor

BANGOR, ME — The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office arrested two men Monday following a burglary investigation that led to the seizure of two handguns and more than 220 grams of cocaine.

Deputies responded to a reported burglary at a residence on Bog Road in Hermon on Monday morning.

Surveillance video showed multiple vehicles arriving at the residence, with at least four males exiting the vehicles, according to the sheriff’s office.

One individual was observed carrying a handgun.

The group forced entry into the home by breaking open the door, but no occupants were present at the time.

With assistance from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, investigators located one of the suspect vehicles at a hotel in Bangor.

Two males were observed entering the vehicle and were stopped and arrested on Odlin Road in Bangor.

A Penobscot County Sheriff’s K-9 unit alerted to the presence of illegal drugs inside the vehicle.

Two search warrants were obtained and executed, leading to the seizure of two handguns and more than 220 gross grams of cocaine.

Carl Harvey, 34, of Glenburn, was charged with burglary, criminal mischief, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and aggravated unlawful trafficking of schedule W drugs.

Adam Brooks, 52, of Waterville, was charged with burglary, criminal mischief, unlawful possession of schedule W drugs, aggravated unlawful trafficking of schedule W drugs and failure to register a vehicle.

The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and Homeland Security Investigations.

The investigation remains active as authorities work to identify additional individuals involved.
