Second suspect arrested in Shelton armed robbery

SHELTON, CT — Shelton police arrested a second suspect Monday in connection with an armed robbery at a gas station in March.

Collin Addiss, 30, of Derby, was taken into custody at Derby Superior Court where detectives served an active arrest warrant.

Police said Addiss was charged with illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle and criminal possession of a firearm.

The arrest stems from a March 11 armed robbery at the Shell Gas Station at 99 Bridgeport Ave.

According to police, Steve Nakhoune, 34, of Shelton, arrived at the gas station in a stolen pickup truck while traveling with Addiss, who was driving a Toyota Camry.

Police said Nakhoune retrieved a sawed-off shotgun from the Camry, entered the store, pointed the weapon at a cashier and demanded money before forcing the victim to the ground and fleeing.

Nakhoune had been released on bond two days before the robbery following a prior robbery in Shelton, police said.

After the gas station robbery, police said Nakhoune, Addiss and associates went on a multi-state crime spree involving larcenies, burglaries, robberies and police pursuits across Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont and New Hampshire.

Nakhoune was later arrested in Massachusetts and extradited to Connecticut, where he is being held on $750,000 bond on a charge of first-degree robbery.

Addiss was processed and remanded back into custody.
