BRIDGEPORT, CT — A two-month investigation into illegal narcotics sales led to the arrest of a 40-year-old man and the seizure of drugs, a firearm and cash, police said.

Joseph Moss, of Bridgeport, was arrested April 28 after the Bridgeport Police Task Force executed search warrants on him, his vehicle and his Olive Street residence.

The investigation was conducted in collaboration with the FBI during March and April 2026 and was led by Detective Carlos Vazquez and Officer Kevin Bettini.

Officers recovered an illegal 1911 firearm loaded with 10mm rounds, a loaded magazine containing seven rounds of 9mm ammunition and 46 additional rounds of ammunition.

The firearm will be submitted to the National Integrated Ballistic Information Network, a national database used to compare ballistic evidence and determine whether the weapon has been used in other crimes or shooting incidents.

Officers also recovered approximately 100 grams of cocaine, approximately 50 ecstasy pills and approximately 50 pressed pills believed to contain fentanyl.

Police also seized narcotics-packaging materials, three digital scales, blenders and other items consistent with the preparation and sale of illegal narcotics.

Officers recovered approximately $1,000 in U.S. currency believed to be proceeds from illegal narcotics sales.

Moss was charged with criminal possession of a firearm and possession of narcotics with intent to sell.
