LITTLETON, NH — Police responded to a hoax emergency call at a nail salon on Main Street on May 8, 2026.
The Littleton Police Department was dispatched to Bingo Nails at 103 Main Street at approximately 2:10 p.m. for a report of shots fired and a female screaming.
Officers from the Littleton Police Department and the Grafton County Sheriff’s Department were already in the area on South Street conducting an unrelated investigation and immediately responded to Main Street.
The roadway was shut down, and officers made contact with the business.
Upon arrival, there were no reports of injuries, and business operations appeared normal.
While officers were on scene, an updated report was received indicating that an individual was suffering from a gunshot wound in the area of the Little Village Toy Store on Main Street.
Officers responded to the area and conducted a search but found nothing suspicious.
The investigation determined that this incident was a “swatting” event.
Swatting is the act of making a false emergency report with the intent of generating a large law enforcement response.
This hoax call remains under investigation.
