HOOKSETT, NH — A police dog tracked a hit-and-run suspect nearly a mile to his home following a crash that caused more than $10,000 in damage on April 3, 2026.

Officers were dispatched to the Granite Hill development that evening for reports of a young male driving recklessly through the neighborhood at high speeds.

The driver reportedly drove over a large rock and crashed into an Eversource transformer.

The male fled the scene in the car, and officers located the abandoned vehicle about a quarter mile from the crash site.

Officer Foley deployed K9 Ares to track the suspect.

The track covered nearly a mile in less than 20 minutes and ended at the front door of the suspect’s residence.

A warrant was completed and served to the suspect, who has been charged with conduct after an accident and reckless operation.
