MERIDEN, CT — Police arrested a man Thursday in connection with the sexual abuse of a dog.
Damon Mesite, 28, of Meriden, was taken into custody at his residence by members of the Crime Suppression Unit and Special Crimes Unit.
Mesite faces charges of aiding and abetting sexual assault of an animal, aiding and abetting sexual assault of an animal (creating/distributing pornography), and unlawful dissemination of an intimate image.
The investigation began April 6 when the Meriden Police Department Special Crimes Unit and Meriden Animal Control began looking into the sexual abuse of a dog.
Mesite was processed and brought to Meriden Superior Court for arraignment Thursday.
He was held on $10,000 surety bond.
