MANCHESTER, NH — A Manchester police officer has been placed on administrative leave following an incident that was partially captured on cellphone video and shared on social media.
The Public Integrity Unit, a specialized division within the Criminal Justice Bureau of the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office, is investigating the incident involving Officer Justin Ketcham.
The incident began Wednesday at approximately 8:30 a.m. when Manchester police responded to a reported domestic violence call involving allegations that an adult son had strangled his elderly father on Bruce Road.
When Ketcham arrived at the residence, a struggle occurred between the officer and Gary Miller, 57, of Manchester.
Miller resisted arrest, and additional restraints, including leg restraints and a spit hood, were used, police said.
Miller was arrested and charged with second-degree assault, resisting arrest and simple assault.
Ketcham will remain on administrative leave while the review takes place.
