School bus crash injures students in Franklinville

FRANKLINVILLE, NJ — A collision between a school bus and an SUV sent multiple people to the hospital Wednesday morning.

The Franklin Township Police Department responded to the intersection of Coles Mill Road and Williamstown Road at approximately 8:14 a.m. for a reported motor vehicle crash involving a Delsea Middle School bus.

A 2025 Nissan Pathfinder operated by Dat Lam, 60, of Erial, was traveling southbound on Williamstown Road when it failed to yield at a posted stop sign and collided with the school bus, which was traveling westbound on Coles Mill Road, according to witness statements.

Approximately 30 students were aboard the bus at the time of the crash.

Eight students sustained minor injuries and were evaluated by Gloucester County EMS.

Seven students were released to their parents or school officials at the scene.

One student was transported to Inspira Medical Center in Mullica Hill for treatment of minor injuries.

Lam was transported to Jefferson Hospital in Washington Township with a head injury and was reported to be in stable condition.

Three additional passengers in Lam’s vehicle were also transported to Jefferson Hospital for treatment of various injuries.

The Franklinville Fire Department and the Clayton Police Department assisted at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
