WILTON, CT — Police arrested a man last week after he allegedly attempted to open a bank account using a stolen identity.
Bank employees recognized the fraudulent activity and immediately contacted the Wilton Police Department.
The suspect fled on foot when staff alerted authorities.
Officers pursued the man and took him into custody a short distance from the bank.
Police credited the bank employees’ quick recognition of suspicious activity with stopping the crime in progress.
