MT TABOR, VT — Vermont State Police arrested a Rutland man on multiple felony charges following an assault investigation.
Troopers from the Vermont State Police Rutland Barracks received a report on May 5, 2026, of an assault that had occurred the previous day on Brooklyn Road in Mount Tabor.
Investigation revealed John Marro, 55, of Rutland, had assaulted a domestic partner/household member on multiple occasions, held them against their will, and violated his court ordered conditions of release, while preventing access to emergency services.
Marro was charged with three counts of aggravated domestic assault, unlawful restraint, interference with access to emergency services, two counts of violation of conditions of release, and criminal threatening.
He was lodged and held without bail at the Marble Valley Regional Correctional Facility where he was already being held on separate charges.
Marro is scheduled to be arraigned at the Rutland County Superior Court on May 6, 2026, at 12 p.m.
