ROCHELLE PARK, NJ — Police arrested two people Wednesday in separate incidents involving an erratic moped driver and a trespassing suspect at an apartment complex.
Officers first observed a moped driver operating erratically on West Passaic Street.
The driver was uncooperative with officers and was taken into custody.
He was charged with obstruction and disorderly conduct and was found to have an open warrant out of Paterson.
While that arrest was being processed, staff at a nearby apartment complex alerted police to a suspicious person inside unauthorized areas of the building.
The suspect fled toward the mall when confronted.
A Rochelle Park dispatcher alerted Paramus police, who located the suspect and turned him over to Rochelle Park police after a foot pursuit.
An investigation revealed the suspect had stolen a building access key and had continuously entered unauthorized areas of the building throughout the past year.
