Man killed, woman injured in crash on North Courtland Street in East Stroudsburg

EAST STROUDSBURG, PA — A man was killed and a woman was seriously injured in a rollover crash late Friday night on North Courtland Street, according to the Stroud Area Regional Police Department.

Officers responded to the 400 block of North Courtland Street at about 9:45 p.m. for a report of a vehicle crash with entrapment.

Police found a green Honda HR-V on its roof in the middle of the roadway.

Immediate medical aid was given to both occupants of the car.

The driver, identified as Kevin Carson, 65, of East Stroudsburg, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A female passenger was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

According to an initial investigation, the Honda struck a tree in the front yard of a residence before rolling over.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

North Courtland Street was closed for about five hours for investigation and cleanup.

The factors leading to the crash are under investigation by the department’s Crash Reconstruction Team.

Authorities are asking anyone with information, video footage, or knowledge about the crash to submit a tip.

The East Stroudsburg and Stroudsburg Fire Departments, Suburban EMS, Monroe County Coroner’s Office, and Pennsylvania Department of Transportation assisted police at the scene.
