Man arrested for unarmed robbery in Boston

BOSTON, MA — A Revere man was arrested Thursday afternoon following an alleged robbery at an ATM in the Fenway area.

Officers assigned to District D-4 (South End) responded to a radio call for a robbery in progress at 1333 Boylston Street at about 4:46 p.m. on April 23, 2026.

The victim told police he was using the ATM when an unknown male approached him and attempted to grab the withdrawn money from his hands.

Following a brief struggle, the victim was pushed to the ground and the suspect fled with the victim’s cash, according to police.

A description of the suspect was broadcast via Boston Police Department Operations.

Officers were directed to a Target store in the area where they located the suspect.

Following a positive identification, the suspect was taken into custody.

While searching the suspect, officers recovered stolen merchandise from Target as well as the stolen cash from the victim.

Police arrested Alex Reis, 44, of Revere.

Reis is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court on charges of unarmed robbery, larceny under $1,200, and trespassing.
