Man sentenced to 20 years in prison for rape in Irondequoit

IRONDEQUOIT, NY — A Rochester man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison following his guilty plea to charges stemming from a November 2024 rape.

Francisco Alberto Perez-Ozuna, 32, of Rochester, pleaded guilty to first-degree burglary, first-degree robbery and first-degree rape.

The Irondequoit Police Department received a call on Nov. 4, 2024, from a 60-year-old resident who reported being raped at knifepoint after returning home from a gathering with friends.

The victim told police an unknown suspect had randomly opened the front door, entered the home, assaulted the victim and then raped them.

The victim called 911 after the suspect left and the victim was able to compose themselves.

Investigators collected evidence at the scene and in the surrounding neighborhood, which produced leads that identified Perez-Ozuna as the suspect.

The Rochester Police SWAT team arrested Perez-Ozuna on Nov. 20, 2024, without incident inside his apartment.

Perez-Ozuna also had two outstanding warrants with the Rochester Police Department at the time of his arrest.

In addition to the 20-year prison sentence, Perez-Ozuna will serve 20 years of post-release supervision.
