ROME, NY — A Rome woman has been arrested following an investigation into the distribution of child sexual abuse material.
On April 21, members of the New York State Police Troop D Computer Crime Unit, Troop D Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Oneida, the Rome Police Department, and Homeland Security Investigations executed a search warrant at a residence in the City of Rome, Oneida County.
The warrant resulted from a cyber tip submitted to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
During the execution of the warrant, Logan R. Kelley, 27, of Rome, was located and interviewed.
As a result of the investigation, Kelley was taken into custody and charged with promoting a sexual performance by a child, a class D felony.
The investigation determined that Kelley utilized the internet to view and distribute child sexual abuse material.
Kelley was arraigned in Oneida County Centralized Arraignment Part Court, where bail was set at $3,000 cash, $6,000 insurance bond, or $10,000 partially secured bond.
The investigation remains ongoing.
