Man arrested on drug charge in Wind Gap

WIND GAP, PA — A passenger in a vehicle stopped for an equipment violation was arrested on drug charges after allegedly providing a false name to police.

Jason N. Noguerol, 45, of Pennsylvania, was arrested Feb. 20 and charged with possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.

An officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop in the area of Washington Street and 2nd Street at approximately 10:56 p.m. for an equipment violation.

During the stop, the passenger was recognized as Noguerol, who was known to officers to have multiple active warrants for his arrest.

When asked for his name, Noguerol provided a fake name and birth date, police said.

After being removed from the vehicle, Noguerol confirmed his identity and was placed under arrest.

A consent search of the vehicle was conducted and officers located a plastic bag containing methamphetamine on the front passenger seat where Noguerol was seated.

Custody of Noguerol was turned over to Bangor Borough Police Department for their warrant and charges were filed through District Court.
