Juvenile arrested after knife threat in Somerville

SOMERVILLE, MA — A juvenile male was arrested after allegedly threatening a woman with a knife on Broadway on April 11.

Somerville Police responded to the area near Foss Park at approximately 8:10 p.m. for a report of threats.

The victim told officers she was walking down Broadway toward Foss Park when she was approached by a group of males.

One of the males brandished a knife at her and threatened to kill her, according to police.

Officers searched the area and located the group of juvenile males nearby.

A knife was confiscated from one of the juveniles, who was placed under arrest.

In other incidents, Somerville Police responded to a business on Holland Street at approximately 2:40 a.m. on April 9 for an alarm call.

The owner told officers a male forced open the door and stole money from the cash register.

Police also responded to a residence on Evergreen Avenue at approximately 11:42 p.m. on April 11 for a past breaking and entering.

The victims told officers they heard a sound in their apartment and observed the front door open.

They then noticed a laptop and bicycle were missing.

The laptop was recovered shortly after on Marshall Street.

On April 8 at approximately 2:36 p.m., police took a report regarding a past breaking and entering in which a victim stated someone entered his bedroom while he was at work and stole prescription medication.

On April 7 at approximately 5:44 p.m., police took a report regarding a past breaking and entering in which a property owner stated a group of individuals made entry into a laundry room and were smoking.

Also on April 7 at approximately 7:09 p.m., police took a report regarding a past assault in which a reporting party stated her daughter was attacked by a group of juvenile females at Walnut Park.
