Newark man arrested on warrant in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, NJ — A Newark man was arrested at a Route 22 music store on April 1 after attempting to sell a suspected stolen guitar, police said.

Officers responded to the store and identified the 40-year-old suspect as a wanted individual for a previous sale of stolen property.

He was taken into custody on the strength of an outstanding Springfield warrant.

Following a follow-up investigation, the suspect was additionally charged with possession of a false government ID.

On April 2, a 33-year-old Union man was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Woodbridge during a motor vehicle stop on Colonial Avenue.

A 42-year-old Bristol, Pennsylvania man was arrested and charged with theft on April 6 following a Detective Bureau investigation of a reported shoplifting from a Route 22 music store.

On April 6, a 31-year-old East Orange man was charged with two counts of theft following a Detective Bureau investigation of multiple shoplifting incidents reported at a Route 22 liquor store.

Officers responded to Route 22 on April 6 for a motor vehicle accident.

During the investigation, a passenger provided false identifying information.

The suspect, later identified as a 26-year-old East Orange man, was charged with hindering apprehension.

A 25-year-old Plainfield man was arrested on April 8 on outstanding warrants out of Kenilworth, Union, Cranford, and Garwood during a motor vehicle stop on Route 22.

Detectives received a report on April 9 of a customer failing to pay for services at a Morris Avenue spa.

Following an investigation, a 65-year-old Springfield woman was charged with theft of services.

On April 15, a 34-year-old Bound Brook woman was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Bound Brook during a motor vehicle stop on Route 22.
