Homicide suspect sought in Philadelphia shooting

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Police are searching for a suspect wanted in connection with a July 4 shooting that left one person dead and eight others wounded.

Naseem Sills, 19, of Philadelphia, is wanted for homicide in the incident that occurred in the 12th District.

On Thursday, July 4, at 11:30 p.m., police responded to a radio call for a person with a gun and a male shot on the 1900 block of South Salford Street.

Maurice Quain, 19, of Philadelphia, suffered a gunshot wound to the head.

The Philadelphia Fire Department Medic Unit pronounced him dead at 11:43 p.m.

Eight other victims sustained gunshot wounds in the incident.

An 18-year-old male suffered a gunshot wound to his left leg.

A 23-year-old male suffered a gunshot wound to his right leg.

A 21-year-old male suffered a gunshot wound to his left shoulder.

An 18-year-old male suffered a graze wound to his head.

A 15-year-old female suffered a gunshot wound to her left foot.

A 16-year-old male suffered a gunshot wound to his left thigh.

A 14-year-old male suffered a gunshot wound to his right thigh.

A 24-year-old male suffered a gunshot wound to his left leg.

Police recovered seventeen 9mm shell casings, one .40 caliber shell casing and two .380 shell casings from the scene.

A $20,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a suspect in the case.
