Police investigate possible fraud case in Great Barrington

GREAT BARRINGTON, MA — Police are investigating a report of possible document fraud after a man approached a resident at their home.

The incident involved a man driving a red vehicle with unknown New York registration tags who requested that the resident sign a document, according to the Great Barrington Police Department.

Police said this is a tactic known to be used in document fraud.

The department is asking anyone who has had a similar encounter to call 413-528-0306 with any information.

Police are strongly urging residents not to sign any documents without carefully reading the contents.
