ALTOONA, PA — Two men were arrested on drug charges following a parole check that led to the seizure of methamphetamine, crack cocaine and more than $1,700 in cash.

Edward Johnson IV was apprehended April 21, 2026, for violations of his parole conditions when he returned to a residence on 6th Avenue in a gray Toyota Rav4 with another man, identified as Curtis Frazier, according to the Altoona Police Department.

State Parole and Probation detained both men and requested assistance from Altoona police.

When patrol officers arrived, Johnson and Frazier were taken into custody for possession of narcotics, which were observed in plain view inside the car, police said.

Officers obtained search warrants for the Toyota Rav4 and a residence on 6th Avenue, which was discovered through investigation to be directly related to Johnson.

Execution of the search warrants led to the seizure of approximately 1½ ounces of methamphetamine, approximately 1 ounce of crack cocaine, $1,708 in U.S. currency, packaging material and miscellaneous drug paraphernalia, police said.

Officers learned that Johnson had ties to a second address in the city and had additional narcotics stored at that location.

Officers made contact at that location and seized an additional 2 ounces of methamphetamine, scales and packaging material.

Johnson and Frazier were transported to Blair County Prison, where they were arraigned by the on-call magistrate for possession with intent to deliver and related drug charges.

Bail was set at $250,000 straight for both men.

State Parole issued detainers and both Johnson and Frazier were committed to Blair County Prison.
