BRIDGEVILLE, PA — Allegheny County Police have charged a Bridgeville woman following an investigation into money being stolen from a local middle school booster fund.
In February, detectives from the Allegheny County Police Department’s General Investigations Unit were requested to Chartiers Valley Middle School to assist in an investigation involving funds believed to be stolen from the Chartiers Valley Choral Parents Association.
Through their investigation, detectives determined the association’s treasurer, identified as Valerie Kubiak, 42, of Bridgeville, had made multiple unauthorized withdrawals from the association’s bank account since 2023.
In total, detectives determined more than $18,000 was stolen from the account and used on a variety of activities including restaurants, vacations, sports gambling websites, and nail salons.
Kubiak is facing multiple charges including receiving stolen property, access device fraud, and theft by unlawful taking.
