BENTON, PA — A 17-year-old was injured after falling from a horse on Jan. 6.
Cpl. Morris and Ptlm. Guiney of the Benton Borough Police Department arrived on scene and found the teen with suspected leg, neck and back injuries.
The patient was lying in 6 inches of mud in cold conditions.
Officers requested assistance from Benton Fire Company, who arrived and began treatment and safe removal from the cold and muddy conditions while stabilizing the victim’s injuries.
All area ambulances were unavailable, with the closest ambulance 30 minutes away.
