Body found beneath truck in Spring Valley

SPRING VALLEY, NY — Police are investigating after a man’s body was discovered beneath a parked truck on April 18.

The Ramapo Police Department received a report of a deceased individual in the vicinity of Park Avenue at approximately 7:15 a.m.

Responding officers located the body of an unidentified male, believed to be between 27 and 34 years of age, beneath a parked truck at the scene.

Police said there is no indication that the vehicle itself was involved in the incident.

Preliminary information suggests that the incident did not occur immediately prior to the discovery.

Members of the Ramapo Police Department Investigations Unit, along with crash investigators and accident reconstruction personnel, responded to the scene.

The deceased individual has not yet been positively identified, but investigators are actively pursuing leads expected to assist in confirming the individual’s identity.

The Ramapo Police Department is working in coordination with the Rockland County District Attorney’s Office, the Spring Valley Police Department, the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office and other law enforcement partners.

Police said there is no known threat to the public at this time.
