Man charged with child sexual abuse material possession in Ephrata

EPHRATA, PA — A 61-year-old man faces multiple felony charges after police say they found child sexual abuse material and methamphetamine during a search warrant execution.

Robert L. MacMichael, of Ephrata, was charged April 17, 2026, with seven counts of possession of child sexual abuse material, one count of possession of a controlled substance and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the Ephrata Police Department.

Police executed a search warrant March 10, 2026, in the 100 block of Spruce Street in Ephrata Borough in conjunction with the Lancaster County Computer Task Force.

Detectives seized several electronic devices that contained over 500 videos and over 2,000 images of child sexual abuse material, police said.

Police also found approximately six grams of methamphetamine, three glass smoking pipes, a digital gram scale and other drug paraphernalia in the residence.

MacMichael was arraigned at Magisterial District Justice Bearinger’s office and bail was set at $100,000 secured.

He posted bail and was released.
