Man arrested on harassment charge in Delhi

DELHI, NY — A Grand Gorge man was arrested after allegedly sending threatening messages to an incarcerated individual, according to the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Craig S. DuMond announced the arrest Thursday.

Investigators with the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division were notified by correctional facility staff on Thursday that an incarcerated individual had received threatening messages via electronic means.

An investigation found that Gage J. Johnson, 22, of Grand Gorge, had sent multiple threats of bodily harm via an electronic device, according to the sheriff’s office.

Johnson was arrested on one count of aggravated harassment in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor.

He was arraigned at the Delaware County Centralized Arraignment Part Court, where an order of protection was issued to the victim.

Johnson was released on his own recognizance and was directed to return to the Town of Delhi Court at a later date to answer the charge.
