Pedestrian dies after being struck by vehicle in Northvale

NORTHVALE, NJ — A 66-year-old woman died after being struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Clinton Avenue and West Avenue.

Northvale police officers were dispatched to the scene at approximately 11:20 a.m. on April 16, 2026.

Officers immediately began rendering first aid to the victim, who was from Northvale.

The driver, a 51-year-old man from North Brunswick, remained at the scene and was cooperative with officers.

Due to the severity of the victim’s injuries, a medevac was requested.

The woman was airlifted to Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack.

She succumbed to her injuries and died later that evening.

The names of those involved have not been released.

The incident remains under investigation.

The Northvale Fire Department, Norwood Police Department, EMS and ALS units assisted at the scene.
