Two arrested in fatal overdose investigation in Pelham

PELHAM, NH — Police have arrested two men in connection with a fatal overdose investigation that began in 2025.

The Pelham Police Department responded to a fatal overdose of a Pelham resident in 2025, according to Lt. Adam Thistle.

The department’s Criminal Bureau took over the investigation and contacted the alleged drug dealers, setting up a drug purchase at a later date.

When one drug dealer arrived, his vehicle was seized and impounded at the Pelham Police Station.

Police obtained a search warrant and located a drug hide inside the vehicle containing crack-cocaine and fentanyl with an approximate street value of $5,000 to $10,000, along with scales and cash.

An arrest warrant was issued for the dealer operating the vehicle.

On Jan. 9, Luilly Fernandez, 32, of Lawrence, Massachusetts, was arrested as a fugitive from justice in Lawrence based upon the Pelham warrant.

Fernandez faces charges of felony sale of a controlled drug schedule 1-4, two counts of felony possession of a controlled drug schedule 1-4, and transporting drugs in a motor vehicle.

The Pelham Police Criminal Bureau, Massachusetts State Police and Lawrence Police Department worked together to take Fernandez into custody.

Fernandez was extradited to New Hampshire on Jan. 9 and transferred to the Hillsborough County Jail.

Police continued investigating the overdose and identified another suspected crack and fentanyl dealer as Luis Vasquez Ramirez, 26, of Lawrence, Massachusetts.

The Criminal Bureau located Vasquez Ramirez at a residence in Lawrence.

On April 8, Vasquez Ramirez was arrested as a fugitive from justice based upon a Pelham warrant for felony conspiracy to sell a controlled drug schedule 1-4.

The Pelham Police Criminal Bureau, Massachusetts State Police and Lawrence Police worked together to take Vasquez Ramirez into custody on April 8.

Vasquez Ramirez was extradited to New Hampshire on April 17 and transferred to the Hillsborough County Jail.
