FONDA, NY — State Police arrested a 25-year-old man after a grocery delivery worker reported being threatened with a handgun on April 13, 2026.
Andrew J. Rogers, of Oppenheim, was charged with menacing in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor, and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, a class A misdemeanor.
Troopers responded to the incident at about 11:25 a.m.
The investigation determined the delivery worker was attempting to deliver a package to Rogers’s home when he reportedly approached them while they were still in their vehicle, displayed and pointed a handgun at the victim.
Rogers was arrested at his home.
The displayed weapon was seized and determined to be an imitation handgun capable of discharging metal BB-style projectiles.
Rogers was transported to State Police Fonda for processing, then arraigned at the Oppenheim Town Court, where he was released on his own recognizance.
