Man arrested on domestic charges in Saugerties

SAUGERTIES, NY — A 45-year-old man was arrested following a report of an unknown emergency on April 15, 2026.

John E. Williams Jr., of Kingston, was taken into custody at approximately 10 p.m. at a residence on Route 32, according to the Saugerties Police Department.

Williams was charged with criminal obstruction of breathing in the second degree and endangering the welfare of a child, both misdemeanors.

He was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Saugerties Justice Court at a later date.
