Woman arrested on DWI charge in Jamestown

JAMESTOWN, NY — A woman was arrested on felony driving while intoxicated charges after allegedly fleeing the scene of a property damage accident Monday night.

Officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 3rd Platoon responded to a downtown business at about 11:12 p.m. for a report of a property damage accident that had just occurred.

It was reported that one of the vehicles had left the scene.

Officers tracked the vehicle back to the registered owner’s address.

Upon making contact with the operator, Leonela E. Rodriguez, officers determined she had been operating the vehicle in an intoxicated condition at the time of the accident.

Rodriguez was placed into custody without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail.

She is being held pending arraignment on charges of driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of a property damage accident and unlicensed operator.

Rodriguez has a previous conviction of driving while ability impaired by the combination of drugs and alcohol, making this charge a felony.
