Man arrested on child pornography charges in Paramus

PARAMUS, NJ — A 23-year-old Hackensack man has been arrested on charges of distribution and possession of child sexual abuse material.

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of Jonnathan F. Ganan Taza on Friday.

The arrest resulted from an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jeff Angermeyer.

Members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at Ganan Taza’s residence Friday during an Internet child sexual abuse material investigation.

The investigation revealed that Ganan Taza used the Internet to view, download, possess, distribute and share items depicting nude and sexually explicit pubescent and prepubescent children.

Ganan Taza was charged with first-degree distribution of child pornography and second-degree possession of child pornography.

He was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack.

Musella thanked the Hackensack Police Department and New York City Police Department for their assistance in the investigation.

He also recognized the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office, Hackensack Police Department, Hasbrouck Heights Police Department, Norwood Police Department, Waldwick Police Department and Washington Township Police Department, which all participate in the Bergen County Cyber Crimes Task Force.
