PENN YAN, NY — A 38-year-old man faces multiple charges following a domestic disturbance in the village.
Christopher C. Newcomb, of Penn Yan, was arrested for criminal mischief in the fourth degree, endangering the welfare of a child and harassment in the second degree.
Police allege that on March 26, Newcomb struck the complainant in the head multiple times with his hand, pulled her hair and prevented her from dialing 911 by taking her cell phone from her.
The incident occurred in the presence of a child less than 17 years of age.
Newcomb turned himself in to police custody on March 27 and was transported to the Yates County Jail to await arraignment for the purpose of obtaining an order of protection.
