JAMESTOWN, NY — Police arrested a man accused of damaging a refrigerator with a baseball bat at a west side residence.
Officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s Second Platoon responded to a person with a weapon complaint at approximately 5:56 p.m. on April 6, 2026.
Police were advised that Jeffrey M. Smith had armed himself with a baseball bat.
Officers learned that Smith used the baseball bat to damage a refrigerator belonging to the victim inside the residence.
Smith was placed into custody and transported to the Jamestown City Jail without incident.
Smith was charged with criminal mischief in the fourth degree and is being held pending his arraignment in Jamestown City Court.
