Man arrested on forcible touching charge in Moravia

MORAVIA, NY — A 53-year-old man has been arrested on a forcible touching charge following an investigation by the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office.

Lewis H. Rosekrans, of Sempronius, was arrested April 3 and charged with forcible touching, a misdemeanor.

Sheriff Brian Schenck said the Sheriff’s Office opened an investigation in March into allegations that Rosekrans had forcibly touched a female victim in an unwanted manner.

Rosekrans was arraigned at CAP Court, where bail was set at $5,000 cash or $10,000 secured bond.

He has since posted bail and was released.

Rosekrans is scheduled to appear in the Town of Owasco Court on April 7 at 6 p.m.
