SOUTHBURY, CT — Police arrested a man attempting to commit identity theft and fraud at a bank April 4.
Malik Bennett, 25, of Bronx, New York, was taken into custody at Newtown Savings Bank, 685 Main Street South, at approximately 11:35 a.m.
Bennett was charged with criminal impersonation, first-degree forgery, criminal attempt at second-degree larceny, first-degree identity theft and third-degree forgery.
Police also discovered Bennett had an active arrest warrant for first-degree failure to appear.
Bennett failed to post $125,000 in bonds.
He is scheduled to appear before Waterbury Superior Court on April 6 at 9 a.m.
