JERSEY SHORE, PA — Police cited a man for disorderly conduct after finding him hiding in bushes in a neighborhood where children were walking to school.
Lycoming Regional Police officers responded to the 130 block of Arch Street shortly before 7 a.m. March 31, 2026, after a resident reported an unknown man hiding under his neighbor’s trampoline.
The caller confronted the man, who exhibited signs of being under the influence of drugs, according to police.
The man told the caller he didn’t know why he was there, then fled the area.
Officers immediately began searching the neighborhood due to the number of children walking to school at that time.
The man was described as wearing a white t-shirt, sweatpants and no shoes.
Two officers and a detective searched the neighborhood for approximately 30 minutes.
Police located the man hiding in weeds in the 300 block of Front Street.
He was identified as Justin A. Brickell, 47, of Jersey Shore.
Officers escorted him back to his residence on Thompson Street.
Evidence at the home suggested Brickell may have exited the apartment through a second-story window, resulting in minor cuts to his hands and arms.
Brickell told officers he had used methamphetamine and believed lingering effects may have contributed to his confusion.
Police said Brickell had called 911 several hours earlier to report people were looking inside his second-story windows.
Brickell was warned about misuse of the 911 system.
