Man arrested on weapons charges in Bronx

BRONX, NY — A traffic stop on Interstate 95 led to the arrest of a Maine man on multiple weapons charges March 30, 2026.

Troopers from Troop NYC, SP Bronx, arrested Troy Rush, 49, of Detroit, for multiple counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Unlawful Possession of an Ammo Feeding Device, and Failure to Safely Store Firearms.

A trooper stopped a Chevrolet Impala for vehicle and traffic law violations while patrolling near Exit 8 on I-95.

During a roadside interview, Rush was observed to be in illegal possession of a loaded handgun.

A probable cause search of the vehicle after Rush was placed into custody revealed two more loaded handguns and a loaded 10-round magazine, as well as over $11,000 in U.S. currency.

Rush was transported to the NYPD 45th Precinct for processing and was later lodged in Bronx Central Booking.

He is to be arraigned at a later date on the following charges: Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd, a class C felony (3 counts); Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd, a class D felony; Unlawful Possession of Ammo Feed Device, a class B misdemeanor (3 counts); and Fail to Safely Store Firearms 1st, a class A misdemeanor (3 counts).
