Man arrested at school in Moira

MOIRA, NY — New York State Police arrested a man on trespassing and resisting arrest charges after he returned to a school where he had been banned.

Cody D. Landon, 33, of Moira, was arrested March 31 and charged with Criminal Trespass in the 3rd Degree (school or children’s camp), Obstruction of Governmental Administration in the 2nd Degree, and Resisting Arrest.

State Police responded to Brushton-Moira Central School on County Route 7 on March 26 at approximately 8:29 a.m. for a report of an irate parent.

An investigation determined that Landon was acting in a disruptive and irate manner.

A no trespass order was issued prohibiting him from entering school property.

Troopers were dispatched to the school again March 31 at approximately 7:47 a.m. after receiving a report that Landon had returned to the premises.

Upon arrival, troopers observed Landon acting in an irate manner and refusing to leave the property despite the active no trespass order.

Landon was taken into custody following a brief struggle and transported to State Police Malone for processing.

He was issued appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Moira Court at a later date.
