Man arrested on drug charges in Somersworth

SOMERSWORTH, NH — A traffic stop led to a felony arrest and the execution of a search warrant at a Lincoln Street apartment on March 29 and 30.

The Somersworth Police Department received an anonymous report of a possible hand-to-hand drug transaction at a Lincoln Street address at approximately 7:50 a.m. on March 29.

A uniformed patrol officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle coming from the same residence at approximately 9:30 a.m.

The operator was identified as Sean McInnis, 48, of Somersworth.

McInnis was arrested for operating a vehicle as a habitual offender, four counts of subsequent possession of a controlled drug and breach of bail conditions.

The drugs are believed to be cocaine, fentanyl and amphetamines/methamphetamine.

McInnis was held on preventative detention until his arraignment at the Dover District Court on March 30.

Probable cause was developed for a search warrant of McInnis’ residence as a result of the motor vehicle stop.

Officers from the Somersworth Police Department, with assistance from the Rollinsford Police Department, conducted a search of the address at approximately 5:40 a.m. on March 30.

Additional drugs, money and paraphernalia were located at the address.

Lawrence Brierley, 48, of Somersworth, was also found at the residence.

Brierley had an active bench warrant out of the Rochester District Court for controlled drugs.

Additional charges are expected.
