TEANECK, NJ — A traffic stop led to the arrest of a motorist on drug charges Thursday night.
Officer Kevin Rodriguez was conducting traffic enforcement in the area of Teaneck Road and Selvage Avenue at approximately 11:32 p.m. when he observed a grey Honda Accord traveling northbound.
The vehicle was stopped for a motor vehicle violation.
Upon approaching the vehicle, Rodriguez made contact with the driver, identified as Aurelio Sanchez.
During the roadside investigation, Rodriguez observed a quantity of suspected marijuana in plain view and developed reasonable suspicion to believe the vehicle contained illegal narcotics.
Consent to search the vehicle was requested and obtained.
Officers recovered approximately 2.3 ounces of suspected marijuana packaged in multiple containers, along with six pre-rolled marijuana cigarettes, and four THC vape devices.
Officers also recovered approximately 2 ounces, or 114 pills, of suspected ecstasy, and approximately 6 grams of suspected cocaine.
Sanchez was arrested on drug charges.
