HARTFORD, CT — A Hartford man was arrested after police spotted him driving a stolen Chevrolet Corvette on March 25, 2026.
Members of the Greater Hartford Regional Auto Theft Task Force observed the stolen vehicle traveling north on Fairfield Avenue during a proactive patrol.
Detectives followed the Corvette until it parked in the area of Henry Street.
Officers converged on the vehicle and took the operator into custody without incident.
Daniel Gunning, 27, of Hartford, was arrested and charged with theft of a motor vehicle, larceny 1st degree, use of a motor vehicle without owner’s permission and criminal trover 2nd degree.
Police recovered the 2016 Chevrolet Corvette, which had been confirmed stolen from a dealership in Waterbury.
Gunning was found in possession of a key programming device, commonly used in motor vehicle thefts.
